SoloRack vs My Remote Mac: an M6 for less, no copies kept
SoloRack and My Remote Mac both rent a dedicated Mac mini M6 by the day or month. Compare prices, failed payments, grace periods and your data.
My Remote Mac and SoloRack both rent physical Mac minis in the EU, one customer per machine, by the day or by the month. On the same machine, a Mac mini M6 with 16 GB of memory and a 256 GB SSD, the differences are in the price, in how renewals and failed payments work, and in how the end of a rental is handled. This comparison uses My Remote Mac’s own pricing pages, FAQ and terms.
The short version
- The M6 costs less. $19 for 24 hours, $49 for 7 days and $112 a month, with VAT included where it applies. My Remote Mac lists the M6 at $22 a day and $149 a month, before tax.
- A week is one purchase. Our 7-day pass is $49. My Remote Mac has no weekly plan: a week on its M6 means seven days at $22 ($154) or a month ($149), before tax.
- 24 hours with your Mac open when a payment fails. If a monthly payment fails, you have 24 hours to fix it or save your work with your Mac reachable; after that your files are deleted. My Remote Mac gives monthly and annual plans 24 hours, or 3 days once the account has had a renewal or plan-change payment, and daily plans none; then the instance is deleted.
- No copies when the rental ends. We keep no backup of your files, and the whole Mac is erased before the next customer. My Remote Mac also deletes the instance and its data when a plan ends; if you added its optional backup disk, those backups are kept for 7 days.

Price: an M6 for a day, a week or a month
If you build with Flutter or React Native on Windows, you may only need a Mac for the last mile: archive the iOS build, upload it to App Store Connect, fix whatever signing issue comes up. A SoloRack 24-hour pass costs $19 for that, on a Mac mini M6. If the job turns into a week of testing, the 7-day pass is $49. For ongoing work, the monthly plan is $112 and you can cancel it any time in the Stripe customer portal.
My Remote Mac prices its entry M6 at $22 per 24 hours, $149 a month or $1,639 a year, all before tax. A daily plan stops after 24 hours unless you turn on auto-renew, and its own pricing notes that monthly becomes cheaper from day 7. Each account can run one daily Mac at a time.
To compare like with like, this article uses the M6 on both sides. If an M4 is enough for your project, My Remote Mac’s M4 starts at $14 a day and $85 a month, before tax.
Renewals, failed payments and your data
Renewals are where a rental can go wrong, so we spell out what happens around them. On the monthly plan we email you 3 days and 1 day before each renewal. On a pass, you get a reminder 2 hours before it ends and another 30 minutes before. If a payment fails, you get an email with a link to update your card, and 24 hours to fix it, with your Mac untouched and still reachable. If it isn’t fixed by then, the rental ends and we cancel the subscription, so you aren’t charged again. Our reminders tell you that everything on the Mac is deleted when the rental ends, so you can download your files and export your signing certificates first. Within minutes of the end, your macOS account and all your files are deleted. We keep no backup or copy, so we cannot get them back, and the whole Mac is erased before the next customer. We never wipe a Mac without warning. Checkout runs on a page hosted by Stripe, and cards that ask for 3D Secure work.
My Remote Mac publishes its rules on its pricing page and in its terms. A daily Mac without auto-renew is deleted, with all its data, as soon as its 24 hours end. With auto-renew on, a declined renewal ends the plan at once, with no grace period and no retry, and the Mac is erased as soon as Apple’s licence allows. On monthly and annual plans, a failed renewal triggers an email and a grace period of 24 hours, or 3 days if your account has already had a renewal or plan change paid. After that, the instance is permanently deleted. When any plan ends, the instance and its data are destroyed. A backup disk is available on monthly and annual plans for 15% of the plan price, and those backups are kept for 7 days after deletion.
So neither service keeps your files once a plan has ended, unless you pay My Remote Mac for its backup disk. With SoloRack, an expired card still leaves you 24 hours with the Mac open, and every plan gets reminders to save your work first. After the end, a forgotten folder can’t be recovered, by us or by anyone else.
Getting started from Windows
Both services work from a Windows PC. With SoloRack, your access details are ready in My account a few minutes after payment. Open the remote-desktop app on Windows (macOS and Linux work too), or use SSH from the terminal already built into Windows. You have full admin rights, and you install Xcode from the App Store with your own Apple Account, so its licence is yours. If you get stuck, people from the team answer by email in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Turkish or Arabic.
My Remote Mac gives you root SSH access plus VNC or Apple Screen Sharing for the desktop, and has a guide for installing Parsec on the Mac. It also publishes guides on React Native iOS builds from Windows, Flutter iOS builds without a Mac, and publishing to the App Store without owning one.
Who My Remote Mac suits
My Remote Mac is a good fit if you want a wider choice of machines: an M4 from $85 a month, M4 Pro configurations up to 64 GB and 4 TB, and a Mac Pro M2 Ultra (by the day only while one is in stock). Its Macs are ready in minutes, a day there includes Xcode and the simulators, and support runs 24/7 with live chat. Teams can add faster network ports, pay annually for one month free, or run a fleet of five Macs or more on a private network. If you want backups that outlast a plan by a few days, its optional backup disk does that.
Switching to SoloRack

- Get your Mac in minutes. A few minutes after payment, your access details are ready in My account.
- Connect. Open the remote desktop or SSH in, install Xcode with your own Apple Account and pull your code from Git. If you’re leaving My Remote Mac, copy your files off before your plan ends: its terms say the instance and its data are deleted at that point.
