The machine
Is the Mac really mine, or is it a virtual machine?
It’s a physical Mac mini M6, rented whole to one customer at a time. Its processor, memory and disk are yours alone while you rent it.
What hardware do I get?
A Mac mini M6 with the Apple M6 chip (12-core CPU), 16 GB of memory and a 256 GB SSD, in a datacenter in the European Union on a 1 Gbit/s connection.
Which version of macOS does it run?
The current release of macOS, so you can install the latest Xcode and upload builds App Store Connect accepts.
Can I run my iOS app on it?
Yes. Run it in the iOS Simulator that comes with Xcode, and install it on your own iPhone through TestFlight.
Access and software
Can I use it from a Windows PC?
Yes. Connect with a remote-desktop app for Windows, macOS or Linux and the Mac’s desktop opens in a window. For the command line, SSH works from the terminal already built into all three.
Can I connect over SSH?
Yes. Add your public key in My account and the SSH command appears next to your other access details. The Mac stays on when you disconnect, so a CI runner or a long build keeps going.
How smooth is the remote desktop?
Smooth enough for coding, Xcode and the Simulator, depending on your own connection. When a terminal is all you need, SSH is instant.
How do I get Xcode?
Install it from the App Store with your own Apple Account, so the licence is yours. It’s a large download, so start it as soon as you connect.
Do I get admin rights? Can I install Homebrew?
Yes. Your account is an administrator with sudo: install Homebrew, CocoaPods, Flutter, Node.js, Docker and anything else you need for development.
What can I use the Mac for?
Software development: writing code, building, testing, running CI and publishing apps to the App Store, with all the developer tools that go with it.
Can you publish an iOS app without a Mac?
Yes, without buying one. Rent a real Mac with the 24-hour pass, connect from your PC by remote desktop, then sign, archive and upload your app to App Store Connect with Xcode. The pass comes with a step-by-step guide, from your code to “Waiting for Review”.
Do you need a Mac to publish iOS apps?
You need macOS and Xcode to sign, archive and upload the build, plus an Apple Developer Program membership. The Mac doesn’t have to be yours: the 24-hour pass gives you a dedicated Mac mini M6 that you use from Windows, with a guide all the way to the App Store.
Can Xcode run on Windows?
Xcode runs on macOS, and from Windows you use it on a real, dedicated Mac through remote desktop. Install it from the App Store with your own Apple Account and you get the full Xcode, the iOS Simulator and Instruments in a window on your PC. Need it just to publish an app? The 24-hour pass is made for that.
Renting, paying and renewals
What’s the shortest rental?
A 24-hour pass, the shortest rental Apple’s macOS licence allows. Need longer? Take the 7-day pass or the monthly plan.
How do I pay?
By card, on a checkout page hosted by Stripe, so your card details never reach our site. Cards that ask for 3D Secure work, and there’s no sign-up: your account opens with your first payment.
When does my rental start?
When your Mac is ready in My account, usually within 5 minutes of payment. At checkout you ask for the service to start right away.
How do I extend a pass or switch to a plan?
In My account, before your pass ends: add 24 hours or 7 days, or switch to a monthly, 3-month or 6-month plan. The new time starts when your current time ends, on the same Mac, with your files where you left them.
Will you remind me before my rental ends or renews?
Yes. For the monthly plan we email you 3 days and 1 day before each renewal; for a pass, 2 hours and again 30 minutes before it ends. You can extend or manage your plan in My account at any time.
How do I cancel the monthly plan?
In My account: each Mac on a plan has a button that opens your subscription. Cancel any time: the plan stops at the end of the month you’ve paid for, and the Mac stays yours until then.
What happens if a payment fails?
On the monthly, 3-month and 6-month plans, if a renewal payment fails, we email you a link to update your payment method. You have 24 hours to fix it, and your Mac stays untouched and reachable meanwhile. If the payment still doesn’t go through, the rental ends and your data is deleted, with no copy kept. Passes don’t renew: to keep going, extend yours from My account before it ends.
Do prices include VAT? Can I get an invoice?
Prices are in US dollars and include VAT where it applies. Sales go through Link, a Stripe service, which handles the VAT and emails a receipt and an invoice for every payment. Businesses can add their VAT number at checkout.
Can I withdraw from the contract?
Yes, if you’re a consumer in the EU: you have 14 days from the purchase and pay only for the time already provided. During those 14 days, My account has a button to withdraw; the “Withdraw from a contract” page in the footer explains the other ways. Withdrawing ends the rental, so take your files first.
Your account
How do I sign in to my account?
Your account opens with your first payment, under the email you paid with. To sign in, enter that email in My account and we send you a link: no password. The link works once, for 15 minutes, and keeps you signed in for 30 days on that device.
Where do I find my access details?
In My account, under your Mac: the macOS user and password and the remote-desktop details, each with a button to copy it, plus the SSH command once you add your key. They stay there for as long as your rental is open. Need a fresh macOS password? Ask for one in the same place.
Can I rent more than one Mac?
Yes. In My account, choose to rent another Mac, pick its plan and pay. It appears next to the first one, with its own access details, end date and renewals.
Your data
How should I keep my work safe during the rental?
As on your own computer: keep your code in Git and export your signing certificates. We keep no copy of your files, so take what you need before the rental ends.
What happens to my data when the rental ends?
We warn you before the end, so you have time to download your files and export your signing certificates. When the rental ends, your macOS account and all your files are deleted within minutes, with no backup and no copy anywhere, so we cannot get them back. The whole Mac is then erased before anyone else uses it. We keep none of your files, only records such as invoices, payments and rental dates.
Who else can access my Mac?
Only you. Every Mac also has a maintenance account that the team uses for support and to delete your data when the rental ends, as the Terms describe.
Where is my data, and does the GDPR apply?
Your Mac is in the European Union, your files stay on it, and we handle your data under the GDPR. Usage statistics run only if you accept them, and never in My account. If you reject them, we only count your visit, without cookies. The support chat is on every page: it loads only when you open it, in a frame that cannot read the page.

Will you help if I get stuck?
Yes, by email: with access, the Mac itself and every step of our App Store guide.
